Elomi: Hermione

Elomi Hermione

Vuoden bloggaaja tässä hei... Sain nimittäin jo talvella Evedenin (Freya, Fantasie, Fauve, Elomi, Goddess) Suomen edustajalta testattavaksi Elomin Hermione-liivin. Rinnan sivussa on kuitenkin mielettömän nätti pitsi, jonka soisin jatkuvan koko kuppien yli...

Hermioneni on kokoa 40HH eli 90HH. Kuppi on syvyydeltään juuri sopiva.

Elomi Amelia, AW 13

In English: I received the Elomi Hermione several months a go from a Finnish Eveden representative. I was so excited to get to try this bra! I never had a moulded cup bra, but I kind of knew already I would love the shape. That's exactly what happened; the shape was very round, and gave a minimized look. I often turn to this bra when I don't want any attention drawn to my breasts.

The materials are amazing. The spacer fabric is moulded but not padded, and it's very soft to touch. I especially loved the panties, which feel amazing against the skin. The Hermione is a good bra even when I have my period, because the cups are also a bit stretchy. I know it sounds weird, but it works and gives great support when the size is right. I was a bit skeptical at first, but I found the support to be enough to run to the bus without hurting! The bra has an elasticated edge in the cups, which I think might be a problem to women with very full on top boobs. I found that the edge sat a bit differently on my bigger breast, but it didn't dig in for me. You can read about how cup edges effect fit here.

I found that the size, 40HH, was nearly spot on for me. I mean, the cup was fine, but I felt that the wires were a bit too wide for my taste. I feel that in 40H Elomi bras I get a more upfront look, but in 40HH my breasts look a bit wider than I'd like. However, the bra is perfectly comfy on me and the wires do not feel wide, because they are cut low from the sides. That's something I really love in Elomi bras! Also, this is the only non-plunge bra that does not cause me discomfort in the central gore area. It's cut lower than most Elomi bras, and I think it's great that they offer a variety of central gore heights to suit different needs.

Elomi will be also launching a new style based on the Hermione. Amelia looks pretty much the same to me, but there seems to be some difference in the fabric used, since Elomi described it having a firmer fit than the Hermione. I wonder if it means the cups are not stretchy...?

All the opinions on my blog are my own. Even if I received a bra for free, I would never accept the company telling me what to write on my blog. When I review an item I received for free, I review it exactly the same way I would if I paid the full price.

  1. First, I love your new layout! It's beautiful! Second, great review of this style. It's our store's best-selling bra because it really does fit well and flatter across breast shapes. Plus, the fabrics are soft and lightweight too, so despite the higher price tag, we see people coming back for it again and again. I have heard the issue of width across the front, so I'd love to see Elomi modify the design to give more forward projection for that customer.

    1. Thank you for such a lovely comment! I hated my old layout, and the new one really feels much nicer. :-)

Glad to hear other women like Hermione, as well! It would definitely be my favourite bra if it came in a plunge version. It is amazing in accommodating different breast shapes, just like you wrote. I remember Invest in your chest using the "your boobs, but better" slogan to describe a shape bra gives. This is definitely that kind of a bra!

  2. I have Hermione in 2 sizes 36HH and 38HH (wish they made a 36J). The 36HH does give a less wide look on me but I get some cutting in on top. The 38HH(have to wear it on tightest hook) fits great in the cups but gives a really wide look on me as well. I love the feel of this bra and the comfort. Hope the Amelia's "firmer fit" give a more up front look. Let's hope so!

  3. Thanks for the review :-)

Elomi looks like a nice brand, never tried one of their bras as they do not make my band size - I usually take a 32. How tight are the bands? Could a 34 band be snug enough?

Any experience of their seamed cup bras? I can never wear these moulded or padded ones. My best fit is a full cup bra - classic or plunge - with narrow wires and deep cups. Which Elomi style would be the best?

The blue color of the Amelia is very pretty!

  4. Just received my Black Amelia! I so wish that this and the Madison would come in 36J. Since my re migration has pretty much sized me out of 36HH I ordered the 38HH and can only hope the 3 hook Rixie Clip is ready before this expensive bra is relegated to aTV watching bra.

I would agree with Elomi that the fit is “firmer” than the Hermione. It is comfortably tight on the middle hook and the side lace panels are of a slightly different design and seem to have a bit more of a forward push. The first thing I noticed was a different(for the better) shape. Not quite as east/west and a bit more uplifted (Jasmine it is not).

Amelia does seem like somewhat of a fit improvement over the Hermione but let’s be honest… with the total lack of similar bras in my size range, even with the shape flaws this feels like heaven. Only wish they would realize that if they can make a 38HH they can make my darn 36J.

    1. That does sound like an improvement! I'm glad the Amelia works for you better. :-) Elomi should definitely make all their bras up to a J-cup, at least!
